András ARATÓ (Budapest, 1953 - ) photographer. Photography is a means through which the user creates the otherwise non-existing present time. Photography prepares documents irrespective of the person who prepares it in any area whatsoever. Consequently photography is a responsible occupation. The art of photography is distinguished form technical, medical, etc. photography, which is not a bit less important if usefulness is taken into account, that beyond the directly visible, it also mediates a message or a thought, and is intended for the public by its creator. That is why the creator’s moral liability is particularly important. Owing to the degree of technical development, from dagerotypia to digital imaging, the definition of the ethical minimum has recently become much more complicated. Perhaps today a bigger emphasis is laid on the obligation of veracity, the place of “real/true”. Member of the Association of Hungarian Photographers since 2006.
